Rev. Portia T. Minter

Inspirational Author

Thanks for visiting Stay True to the Word Ministries. I'm excited to share this new ministry that the Lord has birthed through me as He has motivated me to begin writing books that teach, inspire, and encourage the hearts of His people.  I hope that you will enjoy reading "25 Life-Changing Reasons for Church Attendance: The Relevance of Doing Church" as much as I've enjoyed writing it. I pray that it will touch your spirit and bless you in a mighty way.

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

About Me

Rev. Portia T. Minter is a born-again, spirit-filled woman of God.  She is the wife of Deacon Terrell Minter, the mother of Alunda, Robert, and Jonathan, and the grandmother of Armoni and Emery.   She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. C. H. Tigner and Rev. C. R. Harris.  She is the daughter of the late John S. and Madie H. Tigner.

She accepted her calling into the Ministry on the 2nd Sunday in May 1987.  She was licensed and ordained into the Gospel Ministry by The True Light Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. C. I. Fowler, Jr. on May 22, 1990.  She served at The True Light Baptist Church for ten years.

The Lord gave her a Vision in 1994 for Women in the Gospel Ministry who had been spiritually wounded in the line of Christian Service.  To offer these women opportunities to grow and serve as a part of their healing process.   She became the Founder and Moderator of The Christian Women’s Ministerial Association of Georgia, Inc.   C.W. M.A. as it is called is a Counseling Ministry of Reconciliation for women in the Five-Fold Ministry.   This Ministry has been inactive for several years.  However, the winds of refreshing are currently blowing on it at this very hour.

Rev. Minter graduated from Beulah Heights Bible College of Atlanta, Georgia with honors and received a B.A. Degree in Biblical Studies in May of 1996.   During this same time, she was honored with a Teacher’s Diploma from the Evangelical Training Association (ETA), named in the 1995-96 Edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and was inducted into the Beta Eta Beta Kappa Honor Society of Beulah Heights Bible College.  Rev. Minter has served as an Academic Advisor and Instructor at Emanuel Bible Institute of Higher Learning, Conley, Ga.., under the Pastorate of Mary E. Winfrey, Founder and President.

The Lord called Rev. Minter into a greater calling several years ago, but it was not until she received clear directions in March of 1998 that she fully surrendered to the call to Pastor.  Consequently, The Christian Jubilee Full Word Baptist Church, Inc. was organized in September of 1998 and is still growing by God’s Power today.   The Pastoral Vision is “Preparing a People Who Will be Able to Celebrate the Return of Our Lord Jesus Christ”

She is a member of the National Christian Counselors Association of Sarasota, Florida, through which she completed training in 2001 and received Licensing as a Clinical Pastoral Counselor in Temperament/Family Therapy.  Pastor Minter is passionate about Pre-Marital Counseling.  She sponsors a Marriage Tune-up Clinic Annually.   Its purpose is to strengthen traditional Christian Marriages and to serve as a role model for Youth.

Rev.  Minter retired from employment with the State of Georgia in 2006 with 30 years of service.  Her last work assignment was with the Dekalb County Department of Family and Children Services, where was served as a Medicaid Eligibility Specialist for persons who were aged, blind, or permanently and totally disabled.  Since retiring she has become more active in the Community and working with the Dekalb Consortium of Churches.

On May 5, 2007, Pastor Minter was elected to the Delta Epsilon Chi Honor Society of The Association for Biblical Higher Education for honorary membership of Beulah Heights University.  This award was in recognition of outstanding intellectual achievement, approved Christian character, and the effective exercise of leadership gifts in advancing the cause of Christ.

Pastor Minter is committed to being a lifelong learner, and as a result of this commitment, she received an M.A. Degree in Leadership Studies from Beulah Heights University on May 3, 2014.  She was also elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and College by Beulah Heights University for the 2014 school year.  To God Be the Glory for all He has done.

Pastor Minter is very involved in the community.  She envisions the Church as an intricate part of the Community.  Currently, she leads her congregation in its community partnerships with; The Fellowship of Atlanta Metropolitan Churches (FMAC), The One Race Movement for Racial Reconciliation, Revival, and Social Justice.  She also seeks to bring community awareness around such issues as; Health, Human Services, and the Abolition of Human Sex Trafficking, etc.

Not only does Rev. Portia Minter have a heart for pastoring, teaching, and being active in the community. In 2019, the Lord called Portia to become an inspirational author through the birthing of a new ministry called Stay True to the Word Ministries, LLC.  In 2022 she debuted her first book entitled "25 Life-Changing Reasons for Church Attendance: The Relevance of Doing Church" through Christian Faith Publishing.  The book is now available for purchase through many booksellers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple iTunes.
