Truth is based on love, love for God, neighbor, and oneself. It cares for the well-being of others. It is not selfish; it loves its country and its countrymen. Truth loves at all times like a friend. It recognizes the hungry and feeds them and the naked and clothes them. It makes a positive difference in the lives of others. The Truth Matters.
Truth does not want to be hidden, disguised, or minimized. It wants to be respected, protected, and not neglected. It does not care about your skin color, zip code, or shirt collar; it can be blue or white as long as you do what's right. The Truth Matters.
Truth is the great equalizer; it levels the playing field for all. It avoids hesitation, discrimination, and segregation. It's about love, equality, and self-examination. It is long-suffering; it is not envious nor manipulative. Truth can save many things in our society; marriages, unnecessary medical treatments, money spent due to false advertisements, the spread of diseases, collapsing bridges, our democracy, lives, and even souls. The Truth Matters.
The truth may hurt sometimes, but allowing it to work can result in healing, wholeness, renewal, and restoration. The truth can penetrate down to the bone and marrow. It can discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. It reveals diseases of the mind and soul so that we can seek the Lord for deliverance. The Truth Matters.
Why? Because the truth is based on love. The Bible says love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (I Corinthians 13:6-NIV)
